1)Reserve Bank tightens norms for home loans.
Important points:
a)Increasing the policy short-term indicative rates by 25 basis points
b)It hiked for housing loan above Rs.75 lakhs to 125 percent.
c)RBI has proposed that the LTV (loan to value) ration for housing loans hereafter should not exceed 80 percent. Earlier there is no regulatory ceiling on the loan to value(LTV) ration in respect bank's housing loan.
d)The repo rate has been raised to 6.25 precent and the reverse repo rate to 5.25 percent, cash reserve ration was at 6 percent.
e)The RBI has increased the threshold limit for real time gross settlement system(RTGS) transaction from the present limit of Rs.1 lakh to Rs.2 lakh.
f)RBI to open its sub-office at six states of Nortease,namely,Arunachal Pradedh,Nagaland, Manipur,Mizoram,Tripura and Meghalaya.
