feb-14-2009: The rail budget was released by Mr. Lalu Prasad Yadav and was favorable enough for common man.But on same night super fast Chennai-bound coromandal express from Howrah derailed at jajpur near cuttak causing nine deaths and more than 100 seriously injured. The reason for the mishap was not stated by railway offical. Minister of State for Railways R Velu and other railway officals visited the spot and ordered a probe on this incident. Lalu Prasad Yadav has declared a compensation of Rs.5 lakhs and job for the family member of the dead, Rs. 50,000 for the seriously injured and medical assistance for the treatment.
